CHAPTER 06

VERSES DETAILS
He who is unattached to the results of his work and fulfils his duties- his face is turned toward the renunciation of life and he is a true mystic, not he who does no work and lights not a sacrificial fire.
The work is said to be the means for the follower in the beginning stages of the eightfold Yoga system, but it is said to be the means in the form of renunciation for him who is already elevated in the Yoga system.
A man who does not think for himself does not think at all. A man has to work so hard so that something of his personality makes its entry into the work, he gives it himself. Mind is the friend of conditioned soul, and his enemy also.
A man is once established in self-realization and he is called a Yogi or mystic when he is fully satisfied by virtue of acquired knowledge and realization, such a man is situated in transcendence and is self-controlled. For him it is identical in whether he perceives a pebble, a stone, or gold.
To the practitioner of Yoga should also be a solitary place, he should spread Kusa grass on the ground and cover it with deerskin and a soft cloth. The sitting place should not be very high or very low and it should be properly covered on a sanctified seat. The Yogi should then sit very firmly in the posture and practise Yoga, controlling the mind and the senses, purifying the heart and fixing the mind on one point.
Thus, the mystic transcendentalist, advanced in God realization, can be released from the duel-entrepot of gain and loss, which is a creation of the material world.
One can mitigate every material pain by practicing the system of Yoga and get out of the material clutches of birth, death, disease and old age.
When the mind, restrained by the practice of Yoga, comes to rest, one sees this blissful Self in his self and is satisfied with his self
A person must practice Yoga unwavering by faith. The mind can be controlled by the other senses if meditation is cantered around a source of false ego in that the soul will always desire material desires.
Yogis in service are my vesture; they see me in themselves within all beings they find their freedom I always reside within them.
The mind is actually very restless and definitely moves around like a strong wind that will not stop. O Krishna, as per my understanding, controlling this mind is more difficult than controlling the wind itself. Regarding subduing it, it seems nearly impossible to achieve.
As per spiritual teachings, self-realization becomes difficult work for those whose mind is not controlled. Regarding mental discipline, an unbridled mind creates obstacles in achieving true understanding of the self. But one whose mind is controlled and who makes effort through right methods will further achieve success itself. Moreover, we are seeing that this is only our opinion on the matter.
Basically, the unsuccessful yogi enjoys for many years on higher planets, then takes birth in the same righteous families or rich aristocratic families.
When a Yogi surely practices with sincere effort and remains free from all impurities, he ultimately reaches the Supreme goal after many births of dedicated practice. Moreover, this continuous endeavor across multiple lifetimes leads him to the highest spiritual achievement.
